Under the direction of an expert crew and experienced surf guide, Wild Cat will have you on the path of exploration in search of amazing waves that frequent the islands of Sumatra.
Appropriate for up to 10 guests but capable of sleeping 12, Wild Cat operates year round hunting down the very best waves in the far reaches of the Mentawais, Telos, Nias and even further afield.
The Wild Cat is twin engine powered catamaran with top-tier amenities that includes comfortable sleeping arrangements, large open plan living saloon, 3 amazing chill out spots and is fully airconditioned throughout.

Wild Cat Surf Charters large 2000 square foot catamaran is a spacious premium level vessel with comfortable sleeping arrangements below deck that are split across two sides of the boat.
On either side of the large saloon area beneath the wheelhouse, there is one private double bed, one private single bed and 3 single beds which are right next to each other. 10 beds in total. The mattresses were upgraded in 2020 to 3 inch memory foam, adding even more comfort to your experience.
The large saloon which works as a comfortable communal area is a great place to relax out of the sun, have a midday nap, read a book or watch back footage from the days surfing.
Meals
Lunches and dinners are provided daily in large family style portions with multiple entree/tapas options to choose from.
Breakfasts are available upon request from each guest. Wild Cat chooses not to provide large breakfast meals because every charter is different, some guests love breakfast, some don’t eat until lunchtime. This is all part of their flexible charter options.
Additional meals are also available to anyone who eats more than 3 times a day. Sandwiches, omelets, pasta, noodles and whatever is available is fair game for additional meals. You will NEVER go hungry on Wild Cat.
Large fruit bowls are available daily including mango, dragonfruit, bananas and apples.
Each guest is also entitled to 5 FREE beers per day (500 free Bintangs per trip)!!!
Surf Wild Cat Surf Charters
Wild Cat Surf Charters will bring surfers to any surf spot they desire within the Mentawai region during their trip. It is recommended to follow the advice of your guide decisions, but if there is a wave you MUST surf before you leave, Adam will do his best to make that happen.
Although an additional cost will be applied for fuel and extra days, Wild Cat offers trips as far South as West Java and as far North as Nias. These trips will allow you to travel to remote breaks which mist surfers have never even heard of, let alone surfed. If you’re willing to spend days on the open ocean in pursuit of empty lineups, this could be the best option for you.
Surf Guides
Expert surf guide David Klein (previous owner) and current owner Jason Marcil will be your hosts. Between the two of them, they share about 20 years of combined knowledge and experience to ensure guests are surfing their dream waves.
Accompanying David or Jason, are the expert crew of Rizal (mechanic), Dodi (captain) and Popeye (first mate). Popeye is a guest favourite and does bits of everything. He drives guests out to the break, teaches them how to fish, keeps the beers icy cold and is a bit of a prankster. Trust, you’re in good hands with this lot!

Captain Dodi is also a handy photographer and will shoot drone + long distance zoom.
Non-Surf Activities
Wild Cat Surf Charters offer several non-surfing activities to keep you busy on the flat days or the days your arms are just too roasted to continue the paddle battle.
There is one soft top on the boat for smaller days, there is also a kayak and stand up paddle board for anyone into that kind of thing.
Wild Cat also provide top spec fishing gear as well as free fishing excursions on their speed boat (tender). These trips are guided by Popeye and are a lot of fun, especially with an esky full of cold Bintangs.
Snorkeling equipment is also available and can be used at any time the Wild Cat is anchored in the channel of surf breaks or in protected anchorages.
The crew will also offer local island excursions where guests can visit local villages, take hikes to waterfalls or just chill out on a tropical white sand beach.
