Vatu Vonu Fijian Villa is made up of three bure’s. Each connected through a breezeway, so it feels as if each room is its own domain. The bures are built in the classic Fijian fashion with high ceilings, hardwoods, air conditioning and lots of windows and glass to regulate the sea breezes. The house is also located near other resorts where you can take a short boat ride or enjoy a walk on the beach until you reach one of their many bars/restaurants.

Vatu Vonu is a luxurious villa ideal for big families or a group of friends. The open plan living area was designed to take full advantage of the panoramic view of the bay and breathtaking views of the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, including Namotu and Tavarua from it’s spectacular hilltop location. Tastefully and comfortably decorated. The villa features 3 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms in total, generous deck space and privacy to enjoy what this stunning villa has to offer.
Each room features king sized beds with single beds available for kids or extra adults if needed.
Meals
Your stay at Vatu Vonu Fijian Villa comes fully self-contained. Guests will do a grocery shop with our arrival team on the way to the home. In addition there is a small grocery store on Muskett next door to our island that the boat driver can take them too. Caretaker Waqa is also a great cook and if given notice he is more than happy to prepare meals for you each day. Waqa will prepare local style meals for our guests with their groceries for $5 plus tip per person. Waqa cooks amazing local cuisines like curries, amazing seafood dishes and various other options.
Vatu Vonu is also nearby several resorts on the island of Malalo. About 5 minutes away is Funky Fish resort and Musket Cove resort has a delicious Pizza place serving affordable pizzas and cold beers. You are welcome to enjoy a meal at any of the resorts nearby. Some may require pre-bookings. Waqa can help with this and Jonah can drop you there if required.
Surf VatuVonu Fijian Villas
Fiji’s popular surf region of the Mamanuca Islands needs no introduction with some of the worlds best waves in close proximity to each other.
It’s most famous wave, Cloudbreak is one surf spot in particular that you’ve certainly heard of. If you haven’t, be prepared to be blown about by its perfection ad beauty.
Cloudbreak is known for producing perfect waves up to 20ft (6m), especially in the peak of the high season (see surf conditions page for more information). Cloudbreak is consistently ranked as one of the best and/or most challenging waves in the world, so if you consider yourself an expert and have a go-big-or-go-home mantra, then Cloudbreak is for you!
The Mamanuca Islands are the most accessible group of islands from Nadi International Airport with several accommodation options. It is however highly valuable to book accommodation with experienced boat captains and surf guides who know the waves, the conditions and can offer suggestions based on your experience and ability level.
Other surfbreaks in the Mamanuca Islands include:
- Restaurants (Left): Fast breaking left hander recommended for advanced surfers only. Breaks off Tavarua Island and is best from 3ft-8ft.
- Swimming Pools (Right): A great place for beginners to learn their trade. But also very popular with intermediate plus level surfers producing steep walls perfect for high performance surfing.
- Wilkes (Right): Another epic right hander suitable for intermediate plus level surfers. Has many sections and can produce long rides up to 300 metres.
- Desperations (Left & Right): As the name suggests. Perfect option when everywhere is flat and you just want to get wet. Can be really fun on its day!
- Mini’s (Left): Good option that doesn’t attract too many people so its often uncrowded. Offshore in South Westerly trades and a good high tide wave.
- Namotu (Lefts): A reasonably consistent wave but a bit of a burger. Suitable for longboarders when under 6ft.
Non-Surf Activities
At Vatu Vonu Fijian Villa, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to activities.
Guests may rent kayaks, boards and snorkel gear from Funky Fish below our home.
Your private boat and driver will take you anywhere you want to go including daily fishing trips.
The Villa itself is just a great place to kick back and relax with infinity swimming pool overlooking Tavarua and Namotu islands in the distance. Chill in a hammock and read a book or have a daily siesta or two on one of the many comfortable day beds.
Fiji is also a great place to adventure and tour. Vatu Vonu Villa can arrange tours to Cloud 9 (a cool floating bar/restaurant not far from Vatu Vonu), guided bicycle tours on the mainland and much more.
