Aboard the Santa Lusia, the motto is to deliver the ultimate surf experience at the lowest possible rates without sacrificing comfort.
The surf guides onboard are also the owners, so they are there to make sure you and your friends have a great time getting the waves of your life while being treated like royalty. The charter is constantly improving its service, boat features and equipment, to make sure that you have all you need and more. Santa Lusia has now added a SUP for when you need a break, a spearfishing gun, and a spare dinghy so that there is no wait for you to join the lineup.
This year Santa Lusia has also added extensions, now sleeps a capacity of 11 guests (12 if there is a couple), and has reduced its minimum passengers to 7, making it more flexible than ever. Individual or group bookings are accepted. Onboard the vessel you will often find a photographer or videographer for hire, ready to immortalize the unreal waves you will be catching.
Nothing can compare to 11 days of waking up to breakfast on the table with a dinghy ready to take you out to an idyllic lineup, so you can surf your brains out, eat again and repeat.
The Santa Lusia knows that surfers need to keep the energy up for their next Surf and the crew will make sure you’re well fed. Meals on board are mostly Western style. A first breakfast is served at sunrise including: Weet-Bix, Cereal and Fresh Fruit. After the early session the chef prepares a second breakfast of: French Toast, Omelettes, Egg and Toast or Banana Pancakes. Lunch usually includes Fish, Prawns or Calamari, Sandwiches, Hamburgers, Nasi Goreng (fried rice) Gado Gado (noodles and vegies with peanut sauce) or Pizza. After a sunset surf and Bintangs, dinner is served. Chef Man always serves fresh chips and rice with dinner. Chicken with peanut sauce, Spaghetti Bolognaise and Carbonara with garlic bread, Steak, Lamb Chops and Fresh Fish are some of the favourites! Drinks include: juice, soda, water, coffee, tea and 5 beers each throughout the day. Spirits are hard to come by in Padang so if you want to hit the hard stuff we suggest purchasing it at duty free before arrival.

The Mentawai Islands offer a wide variety of breaks catering to intermediate (long soft walls) and advanced surfers (shallow dredging barrels). Your group will be able to communicate to the expert western surf guide what type of waves you would like to surf before going out. Your guide will then figure out the best spots to take you to depending on the size and direction of the swell and the wind. Many of the waves visited on this surf charter have been featured in dozens of surf movies throughout the years. Spots like E-Bay, Bank-vaults, Hideaways, NoKandui, Rifles, Telescopes, HT’S, Macaronis, Greenbush, Rags, Lighthouse and The Hole are some of the most popular spots for Surf film makers. All of these waves are shallow reef brakes that provide insane tube rides for experienced surfers. The list goes on with a number of easier waves like: Pit stops, Burger World, Nipussi, Baby Kandui, Karanbijat left, 4-Bobs, A-frames, Scarecrows, Bintangs, Lances Left, Sand Bars, Bat Caves, KFC, Roxy’s and Moots, all giving you the chance to carve your brains out and slip into some easy barrel rides.
There are many well-known spots to score some great waves but if you want to dodge the crowd and explore, you can ask the surf guide and go to any number of lesser known but equally great breaks. If your group is a mix of intermediate and advanced surfers it’s no problem for the “Stacia” to drop off surfers to different breaks and still maintain radio contact with the Santa Lusia, so that you can maximise your surf time and stay within your limits.

We guarantee to our guests that Santa Lusia surf guides will take you to the best spot at the right time!
Marco is originally from Brazil however he has not spent a lot of time there in the past decade. Marco & Samia had a surf boat doing private trips around the South Mentawai Islands and taking surf photos and videos. They are very familiar with Mentawai weather - wind and waves conditions.
Santa Lusia surf guides network with the other charter operators to ensure their guests achieve the maximum wave-count, surfing the best breaks, at the right time, with the minimum of crowd. They are also familiar with the Telo Islands and group trips to the Telos can be arranged on request.
