Nusa Lembongan is the ideal add-on to your Bali holiday. Within two hours of leaving your Bali hotel, you will be in another world on the island paradise of Nusa Lembongan, with friendly locals and a fantastic array of surf on your doorstep. To truly appreciate Lembongan and unwind from the hustle and bustle, a minimum of five nights is recommended.
To the north-east lies the popular surfing breaks of Playgrounds, Shipwrecks and Lacerations that skirt the seaweed farms in front of Jungut Batu village. Directly below stretches an underwater coral garden and far behind on the horizon, towers Bali's sacred volcano Mount Agung. The clear, sheltered bay is a safe haven for outrigger canoes. Lounge on the sandy terrace or get out there and get into the surf action.
Lembongan is very unspoilt by western culture and the locals still farm seaweed and live very basic island-style lives. It's great to walk around the streets and converse with the local characters and kids. World Surfaris have a variety of accommodation options available, from luxury to budget.
Shipwrecks - Picks up all the swell and ranges from 1-8 feet. This dynamic wave is well known for its fast workable walls and nice barrel section.
Playgrounds - Requires a three feet wave to break properly. Two breaks with both left and right hand peaks. Has good protection from the wind. Location is perfection with pristine beaches and natural scenery.
Lacerations - Requires a two feet wave to be surfable. Best at 4-6 feet. Two breaks - a hollow shifty left, best at mid to high tide and a hollow right with a fast inside section, best at low to mid-tide. Has reasonable protection from the wind.
Montags - Located on the northern side of Lacerations and is a fast launching right-hander when it is working (only works on big swells).
Cenigans - This is located on Ceningan Island just next to Nusa Lembongan. When there is no swell at Nusa Lembongan head around here for a fun wave. Best at 2-4 feet.
Wind: Varies from SE to NW depending on region and time of year
