Surfers and Non-surfers can enjoy everything Moon Beach Resort has to offer including; spear fishing, snorkeling, turtle watching, waterfall hikes, village tours and of course surfing. It is also one of very few resorts with live-in managers, Australian surf guides and photographers who are all on hand to make this a surf adventure to remember.

There are many uncrowded surf spots all over the Southern and Western sides of Simeulue Island, with many going nameless and many yet to be discovered. There are 10 quality surf breaks within a 60 minute radius of the resort with popular spots like Dylan’s Right and The Peak.

Moon Beach Resort offers moderate to premium level accommodation at an extremely affordable price. Moon Beach Resort oozes value for money and offers arguably the islands best value for many when it comes to accommodation and additional services added on for your benefit.
The resort can sleep a maximum of 13 people across 4 Villas.
Standard Villa’s – Castaway & The Loft: Can be split as a twin or triple share villa, fully air conditioned, ensuite, 240V power, mini bar fridge, Filtered water dispenser, private secluded balcony
Luxury Villa’s – Coconuts & Beach Almond: Both can sleep 4 people split up into single beds or Queen beds for couples, fully air conditioned, ensuites with Hot water showers, 240V power, mini bar fridges, filtered water dispenser
Meals
Moon Beach Resort have a unique dining & entertainment center located on the fore sure overlooking pristine beach.
The restaurant staff pride themselves on producing delicious and nutritious meals and will spare no expense to make it happen. Fresh produce is purchased daily from local village markets and prepared all day by the head chef and kitchen staff. Moon Beach Resort also grows its own local paw paw, bananas, pineapple and a range of different vegetables.
Guests can expect the following during their stay at Moon Beach Resort:
Breakfast – Served betwen 7-10am daily consisting of fresh juices, fruit platters, toast and eggs plus a selection of Asian dishes like fried rice, noodles, banana pancakes. Tea and coffee is also readily available all morning and throughout the day.
Lunch – Lunches are from 12 – 2pm daily. Moon Beach Resort kitchen staff will prepare a mixture of Western and Asian inspired cuisines like woodfired pizzas, beef/chicken salads, toasted beef or chicken sandwhiches, beef hamburgers, nasi goreng and a range of fried or boiled noodles and much more.
Dinner – Evening meals are served as you come in from your afternoon surf! Usually between 6 – 8pm. Curries are a hot item on the menu and popular with guests. Fresh seafood, pizzas, burgers and Asian dishes are usually on the menu. Foods high in energy = more time surfing.
**Mini bar fridge are stocked with a range of beverages daily. Requests for specific drinks can be arranged prior to your arrival.
Surf Moon Beach Resort
Simeulue is considered one of the best islands for surfing in the world and should be high on your list of surfing priorities.
There are a minimum of 10 quality surf breaks in close proximity to Moon Beach Resort. The Peak is a 5 minute trip by land, Dylans Right is roughly 15 minutes and breaks such as Tea Bags is 30 minutes by speed boat. Moon Beach Resort surf guides are always keen and willing to adventure further afield to find uncrowded waves. As far as location goes, Moon Beach Resort is the most central to all waves on Simeulue.
The Peak – A fun left and right, both barreling and nice walling sections. Anyone from Beg/Int – Advanced can enjoy this wave.
Dylans Right – Hollow fast right hander which breaks over a shallow reef. Intermediate surfers +
Tea Bags Right – Only accessible by boat. Starts breaking when The Peak is 4ft plus. Takes roughly 30 minutes by boat
Thailand Left – Approximately 1 hour drive from Moon Beach Resort. Followed by a 15 minute boat trip. An amazing wave that goes high on the perfection scale when the stars align. Requires North – East facing winds…Makes for a great day trip if its on.
Northies Right & Left – Similar to the Peak but often far less crowded. Fun waves and a good option if The Peak is on the bigger side.
South Bay Right & Left – A thick right hander along a point and a left on the other side. Great option for advanced surfers.
Non-Surf Activities
Moon Beach Resort caters to and welcomes non-surfing guests. The resort has an outer reef nearby perfect for snorkeling and spear fishing.
The island is also a beautiful place to explore. Whether you want to hike to beautiful waterfalls or visit local village markets, its all there. We regularly venture out to Teabags surf breaks which is also a stunning journey and magical spot to go fishing or snorkeling.
The resort itself is also a great place to relax. The swimming pool is a private oasis for those who want to sit back, read a book or doze off in a noise free environment.
