A destination for surfers that needs no introduction! The mecca that is the Mentawais has more waves in its archipelago than anywhere else in the world. Swell dictated mostly by low pressure troughs that form off the coast of Africa and spiral East-bound towards Australia, sending long period ground swell at a frantic pace marching North-bound up to Sumatra with no land mass blocking or slowing it down.

Combined with a primarily SE trade wind season, makes Sumatra the most consistent surf destination on the planet with a variety of waves to suit all ability levels.

The Maha Bintang has a trust-worthy speed boat tender to get you from surf break to surf break whenever you want. A surf tender is a vital piece of machinery that makes life in Sumatra a breeze. If conditions change, jump in the boat and head to the next break around the corner protected from local weather patterns. Don't worry, the mothership will catch up later.

The Maha Bintang is a wave hunting machine with every intention of firing up the main engine in search of the best available waves on any given day. Capable of travelling at a steady 14 knots. Maha Bintang is more comfortable at 12 knots which makes for a comfortable and safe journey between islands and subsequent surf breaks.

This service comes as part of your package and is a major inclusion...Many of the other boats DO NOT include this in their package.
