Supporting The Surf For Life Project
“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.” – Isak Dinesen
This time of year surfers across Australia look to head overseas to escape the crowds, beat the heat, explore new horizons and surf the waves of a lifetime. With the bulk of holidays fast appearing on the horizon, World Surfaris offer a diverse handpicked range of summer surf destinations to get you into the waves you’ve spent all year dreaming about.
Normally, World Surfaris offer an incentive for surfers this time of year. A bit of a sweetener in the form of a discount or maybe an extra freebie like a Surfing World subscription. This year the guys have opted to support a better cause, World Surfaris are donating a portion of your summer surf break to the Surf For Life Project.
What is ‘The Surf For Life Project’
The Surf For Life Project was created so that underprivileged kids from all around Australia can experience the joy of surfing for the very first time. Since 2012, Surfing Australia have visited remote communities right across the country offering local kids the opportunity to try surfing for the first time in their lives.

Why is this Important?
There is a tonne of charity organisations or not for profits that are in need of support and if we are being honest you could probably think of a half dozen or so that are in a greater need. So, why this one?
Well, for the ‘stoke’, really…
The Surf For Life Project aligns with the core philosophies of World Surfaris – Surfing has the ability to change lives. Tad dramatic? Maybe, but think about it. How many great memories in your life are from surfing? How many times have you paddled out pissed off, tired or fed up and just needed the salt water and the waves to wash your soul clean? How many times have you come in from a session exhausted, fearless, relaxed forgetting what got you so rattled? How many philosophical, hilarious and/ or inconsequential conversations have you had in the line up with your mates? How easy is to ‘open up’ when sitting out the back and get something off your chest?
So yeah, Surfing has the ability to change lives.
Now, wouldn’t it be great to give all of the above opportunities to a bunch of disadvantaged kids that have never even seen the ocean?
We think so…
Learn More
Surfing Australia developed the project in 2012 with initial support from the Quiksilver Foundation. Since then the project could use all the help it can get, which is why World Surfaris is proudly offering a percentage of each summer booking made between now and the end of February to the cause.
If you’d like to learn more about the Surf For Life Project, you can read all about it on the Surfing Australia website – here.
