Best surf trip we have done to date, could not fault any part of it.
From our initial enquiry until our return there has been very little to fault this trip. Our World Surfaris booking agent, Steve Adam, was excellent and eased us through the administrative requirements and helped diminish any stress that the guys might have had prior to departure.
Transport was also first-rate with good service from Garuda Airlines with all of our boards arriving where and when they were supposed to and relatively unscathed. Transit in Padang was smooth and handled very well by the Surfing Village Team stationed there and my guys really enjoyed the boat trip to and from the Island. The Surfing Village itself is absolutely wonderful and was everything that we could have wished for and certainly ticked all of the boxes for what our crew were after. Cannot rave about how nice and accommodating Paulo and Mario and their ‘village family’ are and how well we were treated and indulged, like family really. The ambience is amazing, the sleeping quarters are fantastic, what a view, and the main lodge is a superb area to hang-out and have some fun with your mates. The food is also beyond good and all of my guys raved about how terrific the quality and quantity of the food was and of course how cold the Bintangs were.
As for the surf? It was everything and more that you would want from a tropical surfing holiday and we all surfed at least twice a day every day with everyone getting some of the best waves of their lives in warm crystal blue water, what’s not to like about that? The surf guides were also excellent and great blokes as well and always managed to get us into the best waves for the conditions and took some awesome photos for us to reminisce and pine over in the cold Vicco weather that we have returned to. Most importantly we did not have to surf with anyone else at all other than our crew for the whole trip which was truly amazing. There are not many places left in the world where you can do that.
Personally, I could honestly not recommend this trip and location highly enough. Note that for me it was not just the amazing surfing component, how good the waves are etc, but the ‘whole package’ that makes this the best trip that we have been on and the guys are already talking about going back next year.
Five stars from us to World Surfaris and to The Surfing Village, fantastic trip and would recommend it to all.
