From April to October, PNG’s reefs, points and beach breaks turn on with the northerly swell, offering surfers consistent waves, from mellow and fun to fast and hollow. PNG ticks all the boxes – a remote destination with empty waves and relaxed vibes.

The surf season in PNG officially runs from November to April, but don’t be surprised to score epic waves from May through to October. Irrespective of the wind conditions in PNG, at least half of the breaks remain offshore, meaning more waves for you regardless of the conditions.
The waves in PNG offer something for every surfer, from powerful, hollow reef breaks to long peeling points and fun beach breaks for beginners. Whether you’re an experienced surfer looking for a challenge, or just learning to surf, PNG has something for everyone.
