Discover Picture-Perfect Reef Breaks
When people think of an island paradise, the Maldives immediately come to mind. The Maldivian atolls are a hub for surfing and other water activities, attracting people from all over the world.
Located north of the Malé Atolls, the Northern Atolls are made up of the beautiful Baa, Lhaviyani and Raa Atolls. With a total of 13 named surf breaks, there are still plenty of waves yet to be explored and many of our surfers have experienced empty waves with no one out but themselves.
At World Surfaris we offer surf charters to the Northern Atolls, taking advantage of the peak surf season from June through to August and sometimes September. Under the guidance of our legendary surf guides, many of whom grew up surfing the area, we’ll take you on a Maldiavian surf trip to track down the best waves of your life.
If you’re up for an adventure and don’t mind getting off the beaten track, a boat charter to the Maldives’ Northern Atolls could be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

– Northern Atolls
Within the Northern Atolls there are three distinct surfing atolls, Baa, Lhaviyani and Raa. Each atoll has its own epic wave, with 13 named surf breaks in total, as well as a range of lesser-known waves close by.
The surf season in the Northern Atolls is similar to other south-west Indian Ocean magnets, with the best waves on offer from June through to September. Thanks to the fewer number of surf resorts in this region, and next to no other charter boats exploring the waters, there’s a good chance you’ll encounter empty waves that you’ll be mind-surfing long after your holiday is finished.
