What an amazing run of swell here in the Mentawais!
For those groups who are lucky enough to secure dates in July for their surf trip, usually score! Not just because they escape the cold crisp winters back home, but because the Indian Ocean more than typically lights up from storm activity progressing in a Southerly direction, subsequently smashing West Sumatra and all its neighboring islands.
We were stoked to welcome professional photographer – Dave Edmondson from Soulsnaps for our latest trip. Nomad got a fair bit of love in the off-season and I for one was pleased to finally get some snaps of my baby looking pretty as ever!
We had small waves to start the trip and it gradually increased over time with some bigger swells reaching the 8ft range some days.
