MAHA BOAT-1

Maha Bintang – July 2019 Surf Report

An awesome season for Maha Bintang in the Mentawais this year.

In early July we welcomed a great group of guys from the Tweed area. Being early July also meant State of Origin and not just any SOO game, this was game 3 the decider.

NSW got the win and the Tweed boys were happy. Better luck next year Queensland…2 in a row!

To top off a great series win by the Blues, the ocean didn’t let us down. Consistent waves from 3-8ft and varying winds, but nothing to drastic. We started the first trip of July surfing the Northern region of the Mentawais. Standout sessions at Tele’s and Scarecrows were highlights for many of the guys who were goofy and used to surfing right hand, sand-bottom point breaks in their home towns.

The land of lefts continued to produce the goods throughout July. Only the occasional bad day which guests used as time to sit back and chill with a cold Bintang while shooting the breeze with mates who they may not get the chance to always chat to in the busy lives they have back home with work, kids and just life in general.

The bow of Maha Bintang makes this even sweeter, and the friendly crew are always on stand-by to keep the beer flowing and the tasty seafood at a premium.
