Report and photos by Michael Hill:
The bitter melon, long beans, papaya and chilli’s are the pick of our Vegetable patch at the moment but no rain to moisten the soil….. Buuuuut plenty of salt water splashing around, the waves have been pleasing for everyone even the Kite Surfers every now and then.
With medium size waves for the first half of the month which opened up all the spots including Cobblestones and Nunggadoro, fun 3 footers at Pericopes and of course Lakey Peak collecting most of the swell. Towards the back half of August we had a couple of decent 2 to 3 metre days which brought Steph Gilmore down to our local, shredding and owning the rights at Lakey Peak. Thanks to Uriel @ Indo Surf Crew who came down with Balinese Surfer and all round nice guy Komang Ari from BGS Uluwatu and they left us with some great photos of our place as well as the waves.
Komang’s first time to Lakey Peak and scored, take a look at the photos!
We are getting excited for September as it brings a host of new and old friends to Lakey Peak Haven to enjoy the waves and good times.
We still have availability for September so book your trip soon. Eat @ Shacks has a brand new menu and open everyday. Join us for Sunsetters Happy Hour everyday for a cold beer and good vibes join in on the banter. The newest place to experience in Lakey Peak, Sumbawa.
