130km drive and 4hrs from YOG (Yogyakarta International Airport) we travelled through Javanese jungle until we arrived at an incredible, picture-postcard-like bay. We were miles from anywhere and it was a great relief to arrive to icy cold beer. This is a destination completely unlike any other Indonesian hot spot. IstanaOmbak Eco Resort is a delightfully low key surf retreat… there is no menu….you order what you want, when you want, ingredients permitting.
We were here to film Dimity Stoyle (Rookie on the Women’s Pro Tour); Woody (James Wood – former under 16yrs and under 18yrs World Junior Surf Champion) and Andy Schwartz (one of our World Surfaris surf guides – Maldives season) catching barrels and exploring the general area. More pics to come…
