September is usually a very reliable month of consistent swells and good weather here in the Maldives. It’s certainly one of my favorite months. This year September was the opposite of consistent – with some really epic moments but also some small and onshore days that made life difficult. This has actually been the pattern for the entire year. Luckily the majority of our guests had booked trips of at least ten days so they usually scored one way or another…it just wasn’t the thirty days of waves I’m used to reporting on!
PS. the last time we had a fickle season, the following year was all-time!
