Cascading down the hillside onto the main beach with a birds-eye view of the three main surf breaks (Playgrounds, Lacerations and Shipwrecks), this exquisite retreat overlooking Jungut Batu Villa and further to Mount Agung on Bali offers the ultimate in villa-style accommodation. Former World Surfaris owner, Shaun Levings, has stayed at Nusa Lembongan Island Beach Villas and will return with his family in the near future.
Shaun says, "It's fantastic to find a location to keep the family happy and enjoy some great surf. The villas are amazing (some with plunge pools on the deck). I can wake up early and walk onto the balcony and check which surf break is appealing for the morning surf. Surf for a couple of hours before breakfast and return to the villa where breakfast is served! We can then hit the pool and if the surf is good I can easily duck out for another session whilst my wife gets pampered by the local masseuse and the kids have fun in the pool. For lunch, we can eat by the pool or walk to a variety of local eateries within 10 minutes, followed by a walk around the village and a chat with the friendly locals. Return to the villa for a rest and to escape the early afternoon sun, read a book on the balcony while the kids watch a DVD. Back to the pool by 4pm and possibly a late arvo surf session (my local guide is available all day long with his outrigger boat or, if I'm feeling energetic, I can simply walk down the beach and take a 10 minute paddle). Dinner at the resort or once again at the local eateries including some great options at Mushroom Bay. …and tomorrow do it all over again".
Another bonus is the speedboat service back to Sanur in Bali, twice daily which allows keen shoppers to take the morning boat and a taxi to Kuta/Legian/Seminyak (20 minutes), shop for five hours and then back to Sanur for the afternoon speedboat to your island paradise! You can do the same with Bali sightseeing with the family, e.g. a day trip to Ubud and the monkey forest.
