The Indian Ocean season continues to impress. Our adventure operators are hitting our in-boxes daily with reports of epic conditions. Truth is, we’re growing a little jealous. Whilst the cold weather sinks in and the days have shortened, they are over there indulging in long wave sessions, warm water and icy cold sunset knocks offs.
This latest report comes in from Santa Lusia guide, Nick O’Brien. We could waffle on some more about what lies at the epicentre of this adventure and the general thrill of surf travel in the renowned region of the Mentawais, but the images, video and report speak for themselves.....

SANTA LUSIA - Trip 2 2014 - From Nick
The 2014 season continues to pump....trip 2 was another epic one. The photos speak for themselves, the lads shredded and the waves were pumping.
We had solid swell from the start with the Ments putting on a warm welcome to the lads with the first day spent at solid 4-6ft Lances Rights, from there we continued south and scored all time waves at a few different spots while managing to keep away from the crowds. One particular right in the southern part of the Mentawais really turned it on for us with everyone getting their fill of throaty barrels.
And just to top the trip off after completing the crossing back to Padang we got the news of the Blues getting up in the origin!
Trip 3 heads out in a few days and its shaping up to be epic with one of the biggest swells this season heading in our direction. Stay posted for another round of pics in a fortnight.
Fundraising for Surfaid is now at $405AUD for the season with all t-shirt profits and 20% of photo packages going directly to the charity which works to aid surf communities in need throughout Indonesia.
