September has brought a bit of everything for us here at Aura. There has been no shortage of epic ‘Peak’ days right on our doorstep. Just walk out your front door and paddle straight out, surfing pumping waves doesn’t get any simpler.
From big to small, barrels to turns, the Peak has delivered a wide variety of ultra ripple conditions.
September also treated us to some solid swells, bringing along with it some of the best ‘Teabags’ conditions the boys have ever seen, meaning plenty of solid kegs to go around. “Best barrels of my life!” is a claim we heard thrown around more than once. Guests also surfed plenty of other setups around the island, making the most of the wide variety of waves on offer.
The Aura speed boat also has also made a return to the water. After a quick tune up, she’s now running better than ever, freshly painted, and ready to get you into the best waves, faster than anyone else. We have also had plenty of fun in the evenings, with regular BBQ’s and bonfire’s, the boys have had plenty of time to hang and talk story of the days action. Between surfs, guests also enjoyed sight seeing and exploring the island, visited the local waterfall, and had a snorkel at the picturesque Mincau Island. We may now be entering shoulder season, but the waves are showing no signs of slowing up, the weather is great, and we are looking forward to another month of amazing surf in October.
