From a fantastic Fia Fia demonstration to the harrowing ruins of an old church destroyed in a cyclone, fruitful fishing and of course—endless sessions of surfing. There has been no shortage of variety here at Aganoa Lodge this week.
A trip to Coconut Grove was a great way to experience what our vast island has to offer in terms of scenery. Picture endless rows of coconut trees—fringing a white sandy beach with an unspoiled, crystal clear ocean lapping upon its shores. It’s usually a must for a day trip with a picnic. If we are lucky we score waves down there too, the place impresses everybody.
We also found time to hang out with the local turtles up on the north coast of Savai’i, which provides an up-close and personal experience with some of the island’s oldest locals, a visit to the blowholes and basking in the calming setting that is Aganoa Lagoon. On top of all of this, we have been lucky enough to continue to enjoy the same uncrowded, clean, 2-4ft waves on our doorstep. How awesome is that!
