Hi all,
Hope you all appreciated how limerick like today’s blog title is, Dr Seuss would probably want to shake my hand. Sadly having now exhausted my creative energy the rest of the blog will take on a more serious edge but luckily for you its going to be informative as well ……
So as promised we will be touching briefly on our Indian Ocean 2011 range to help you look forward to bringing in the southern swells (like you needed it). March heralds the beginning of the busy season for us as the southern winter storms start pushing swells towards the South facing breaks scattered around the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The distance these waves travel cleans them up and often you’ll be scoring long lines of ground swell accompanied by favourable or light winds. So for a lot of surfers it’s the season to be jolly. The Indian Ocean is a definite hit for surfers, the variety of south facing breaks and variable wave types have been calling surfers for years. No doubt the 2011 will be no different, so to help you decide we thought we’d give you the facts; a nuts and bolts version of what to expect at each of our Indian Ocean operators. Hopefully this will help sway those who are umming and ah-hing about 2011.

World Surfaris are the only surf travel company that can offer this service, the deal is that there is 30 surf pass transfers, World Surfaris have 20 so on any day there are 10 up for grabs. Often those 10 passes don’t go far, if you don’t want to caught out book with World Surfaris

The Breaks:
Lohi’s Left – Left Hander breaking off Hudhuranfushi resort, you will have unlimited access to this break whenever you want. Lohi’s is long wakable left, with barrel sections breaking over coral.
Jail breaks: is a classic right-hander that was previously off limits. A long down the line right-hander with 3 distinct sections including a mid barrel section. Rides of up to 300m can be had when it’s lining up.
Honky’s: is located near HP reef just North of Himmafushi Island. It is a fast wrapping left at 4-6ft and needs the right swell direction.
Sultans: An easy right-hand take off which leads you to an intense wrapping section at the end. Breaks 3-8ft. Please note: this wave is the most protected from the southerly winds in the North Male atoll and collect the most swell – so go there if it is small.
Chickens: is probably the fastest wave in the North Male atoll. This wave holds swell size from 3ft to well over 10ft and provides rides up to 500m long.
Ninjas: A mellower wave than others in the region the wave generally lacks shape so is tad more user friendly and good for cruisers. Ninjas get its name because of its popularity with Japanese surfers
Cokes: breaks 3-10ft and is fairly protected from the southerly winds that may affect other breaks such as “Lohis”. This wave has been well photographed and is the hollowest in the North Male atoll. This will test your tube-riding ability
Getting There: Flights daily to Male surf transfers included the Airport is 30 minute speed boat ride to the resort.
Your trip includes: 7 nights in air conditioned beach Fale Accommodation, Exclusive World Surfaris Surf Pass, expert surf guides, all meals, all drinks including alcohol and cocktails and all transfers.
