July 15th surf report

We were thinking this would be a “day before the swell” kind of lay day and we would just be bidding our time surfing little waves and dreaming of the next swell.  Well, the waves might have been little today but it was so clean and good!   We surfed Kandui’s and Hideaway’s where conditions could not have been any better. We’ll take lay days like this anytime!

July 16th surf report

A swell was forecast to arrive today, and arrive it did!  Waves were well overhead at the exposed spots and anyone that wanted it got some bombs!  The wind turned late morning and all the waves in front of the resort were super clean and good.  For Bobs was a good as it gets and Soga is claiming a stand up barrel out there.  I was watching 4 Bobs for a while and I believe him!  Karambat was about as good as it for that size as well.  Rifles even had a few legit waves rolling through.  All in all, it was a pretty fricking good day!

July 19th surf report.

What started out to be an ugly day, really turned out nice.  We headed for Bankvaults in the morning, hoping against hope there was enough north in the wind for it to be clean over there.  No such luck.  Just a few more degrees in the angle and we would have been ok, but instead we were heading back to the resort for more coffee and a real breakfast.  Things cleaned up as the day wore on and both our boats ended up at Beng Beng.  It was clean and head high over there.  Our guests still had some froth to work off so they spent a good part of the day doing just that.  Just as our first boat got back to the resort pretty late in the afternoon, we noticed the winds starting to turn so it was a quick, late lunch and we were off again and scoring again!  Well overhead, good conditions, barrels….  We can live with that.  We’re looking at smaller but still decent surf for the upcoming days with (allegedly) good winds for the lefts.  There is a nice swell on the horizon and we are crossing our fingers that they don’t downgrade that one!
