Hi all,

October is almost upon us. 4 more days and the Summer season kicks off there’s some small activity in the northern pacific already as if its waiting and getting ready to send the first small ripples down south to the north facing breaks of Carolines, PNG, Samoa and Tonga.  Summer spots are still pretty open if anyone is keen to escape their locals dismal offerings. If not hopefully these pics will put in good stead and see you through until the next swell arrives.

At a lavish awards ceremony in LA, David Scard who heads the World Surfaris, Stealth Travel Club was awarded 2nd best ride in 2010 for his incredible Cloudbreak barrell. He was just pipped at the post by Danilo Couto of Brazil for his macking Jaws bomb ! Congratulations Scardy now get back to work

Scardy will find out tomorrow morning AEST (1900 LA time) if he’s won the first prize of us$50k !!  Regardless of whether he wins it’s been the longest ride of his life!

Hey friends.  Exciting news today.  World Surfaris KirraSurf manager, David Scard has made the finals of the Billabong XXL awards with his incredible Cloudbreak barrell last year deemed to be in the TOP 5 waves ridden in 2010 !! Imagine that.  Scardy is being flown to LA for the awards ceremony at the end of April.  You can imagine how stoked he is.  This was the result of a World Surfaris Stealth Mission in September 2010 with some higher profile pro surfers. Who would have thought Scardy would score the wave of the session and quite possibly the wave of the year…Go Scardy your a mad-dog, whilst his alter ego David Scard is an awesome travel consultant and can hook you up for your next surf adventure.

Whilst Scardies is not the biggest wave ridden, it is certainly the best barrell ride with a very high degree of difficulty.  Top pros who have surfed big Cloudbreak have given Scardy big Kudos for his incredible effort.  They acknowledge that this barrel was freakish!

Hi all,

          David Scard, World Surfaris consultant, all round good guy and big wave champion, is still basking in the glories of his epic Cloud break session. After tracking a swell to Fiji Scardy put out a stealth alert to forewarn the keen , the brave and possibly the down right suicidal.  A few nights onboard our Fiji charter the ‘Stellar’ and the small specialised group were ready and in place to chase the adrenaline charged behemoths. Scardy’s 15 footer + saw him barrelled for 9 seconds and ride into a Billabong XXL big wave nomination an ASL poster and other glories besides. The folks at ASL have pieced together two webisodes and since we are all about getting behind Scardy it would be remiss of us if we didn’t share the journey with you. So enjoy and all the best.

       Whilst Scardy was scoring 15ft + Cloudbreak on the weekend of the other weekend, New Cal was playing host to some of the finest surfers from Melanesia. The below comes courtesy of Seb our friend and operator from New Caledonia, which World Surfarfis had the extreme pleasure of visiting recently ( More later). The competition took place at Ouano break and we think you’ll agree it put on quite a show.

      This just in form Pohnpei Surf Club’s Alois Malfitani, the first swell arriving from the North Pacific means that summer is running bang on time and soon all our summer destinations in the Pacific will turn on. Tonga, Caroline Islands, Samoa (new summer packages) and of course PNG so get onto it and get into it. Summer is here ……exciting times eh?

Hi All,

        David Scard our  Goldie office consultant stands like a giant this week after returning from a stealth trip from Cloudbreak on board Stellar our Fiji Charter . The recently released break is under a new law which no longer limits access to Tavarua resort guests only. At 15ft+ though it wasn’t going to be for the faint hearted and Scardy, Laurie Towner, Dean Brady and Shaun Cansdell made the most of  the epic conditions.  The wave of the day has since been splashed around and we’re absolutely stoked for Scardy who’s still buzzing eurphorically and in all honstey staring like a deer in the headlights as the prasie oozes around him (we don’t know if it’s the media environment or the after effects of the wave). Hi All,

        After hearing about epic conditions and glorious swells pounding the Southern Coasts of Australia I was super pumped when a family gig meant we would be heading down. But after being greeted by 11′c days and surfing in 14′c water I realised how much I love surfing……. in the tropics. So to anyone out there suiting up in the predawn glow, being greeted by chilly offshore winds and conditions better suited to ice fishing.  I can only commend you and admire the alacracity in which you continue to pursue the sport of surfing.  I understand the journey is important and the old chestnut “It doesn’t matter if its snowing or blowing I’m going” but cold is cold. The team here at World Surfaris hope that the below warm your toes and get you pumped to head off to some distant tropical wonderland in just your boardies or bikinis and surf to your hearts content as the only thing getting you out of the water is the exhaustion of paddling onto wave after wave and not numb fingers, purple cheeks and the ice cream headache which resulted because of your first duck dive.
