Matanivusi Surf resort Fiji, doesn’t usually send us a lot through. The below images came in yesterday afternoon from Brian and Donna the owners after they caught some summer sets with guests.

Since the 2010 Fiji Surfing decree lifted the exclusivity on surf breaks guests have been enjoying access to a number of world renown breaks. The initial fears of overcrowding seem groundless and Fiji is has become a real oppurtunity for anyone wanting to score some wave Pacific wave Perfection.

Pohnpei Surf Club – First Swell Arrives!

Hi All,

This just in form Pohnpei Surf Club’s Alois Malfitani, the first swell arriving from the North Pacific means that summer is running bang on time and soon all our summer destinations in the Pacific will turn on. Tonga, Caroline Islands, Samoa (new summer packages) and of course PNG so get onto it and get into it. Summer is here ……exciting times eh?

Akos is an old friend of my. Hungarian for Massachusetts, relocated to the Big Island and now spending some time in Pohnpei. He works a lot and does not surf that often. On September 29th it was mostly me and 5 other guests. Most of the bigger deep sets were going unridden so when I gave Akos the tow rope the last thing he expected was to get the wave of his life. He had never towed before and got him self into this sick pit! The swell is still pumping but after one day out everyone is so surfed out no one is in a hurry to get out there. Let’s wait for the tide to start coming in and then head out.

Primitive Surf Travel Night 17 September 2008

Thanks to all who made it down to Primitive Surf Travel Night on the 17^th September 2008. World Surfaris are proud to be involved and the crew at Primitive Surf put on a great night. The beer and BBQ ensured it was a chilled out night. MC’s Craig Rees from Primitive Surf and Shaun Levings from World Surfaris kept the crowd informed and entertained on all things surf travel.

A couple of special guests took to the stage, Andrew Rigby from PNG Surfaris and Brian and Donna from Matanivusi Surf Resort. Andrew was super stoked as usual throwing out t-shirts and passionately taking about the unique surfing and cultural adventure that is PNG Surfaris. Brian and Donna gave an informative presentation on their slice of paradise Matanivusi Surf Resort in Fiji with some great surf shots which got everyone pumped! Everyone who participated on the night received a World Surfaris show bag full of brochures, stickers, DVD’s and an exclusive offer.

The crowd took advantage of World Surfaris expert travel knowledge with heaps of questions and one lucky surfer enjoy the door prize offered by World Surfaris of $500 travel credit. All in all a great evening and World Surfaris staff were stoked to get involved and chat to all the prospective surf travellers.
