Introduction
This a newly discovered surf region of PNG with the first surfers ever visiting the Horny Islands in February 2007. The 2007/08 season is now over. During the season there were three new breaks found and some classic days experienced. MV Kamai, the boat used throughout the season, WILL NOT operate in 2008/09. We are currently sourcing another vessel as it would be a shame to see these waves go unridden next season. Watch this space for more information. Read More...
More InfoKey Features
Empty reef perfection
The Admiralty Islands of PNG are positioned perfectly to take advantage of the predominent north swells that occur in the Pacific Ocean from October until April. There are many reef passes located on the NE side of atolls that are offshore in the predominent NW trade winds that coincide with the north swells over this period.
Pristine environment
The Admiralty Islands is one of the prettiest regions in the Pacific and totally unspoilt by man. Only a few villages exist and the locals are friendly and welcoming. This is truly paradise found!
PNG culture
The locals paddle out to the line-up in their canoes to watch the "crazy white man" surf. They hoot and holler after each ride. Until February 2007 they had never seen surfing. Enjoy a village visit and feel like the Pied Piper as the kids follow you around. An incredible experience.
