About Hudhuranfushi/Lohifushi Island Resort

Hudhuranfushi means Island of White Gold. The resort, formerly known as Lohifushi, underwent a major reburbishment in 2006 and was upgraded to a four star resort.

The refurbishment included 137 guest rooms (beach villas) and also the addition of 26 new ocean villas to the room inventory. The old beach villas have been completely transformed with new interior and exterior architecture and design. All villas have thatched roofs, timber front deck, polished cement flooring, TV, mini bar, bathtub and outdoor open air shower. Lohis Surfpoint rooms are also available for those surfers who don't need an upmarket room on the beachfront but would like to be first in the surf each morning. Only a 50m walk from your Surfpoint room and you're checking out the famous left-hander, Lohis.

The resort is perfect for surfing couples, honeymooners, families or the boys looking to kick back in style.

Located in the North Male atoll, approximately 30 minutes boat ride from Male airport, the resort is a four-star multi-facility island paradise with sandy beaches, crystal clear pristine lagoons surrounded by coral reefs teeming with colourful tropical fish. More importantly, it hosts a perfect left-hander which wraps around the south east corner.

Not only do you have access to the quality left-hander within paddling distance, but also use of the resort boats for transfers to the outer reefs such as Cokes, Chickens, Sultans, Jails etc.

Two expert surf guides are employed by World Surfaris to exclusively look after World Surfaris clients and co-ordinate your boat transfers, ensuring no communication hassles occur.

The ultimate surfing package

Two boat transfers per day are included in the package price for surfers. Your space on the boats is guaranteed at all times. We have a guaranteed allotment of 20 surf passes per day, which leaves only 25 surf passes available for non-World Surfaris guests to try to purchase directly at the resort. During peak surfing season there will be occasions when more than 45 surfers are staying at the resort and wanting to take boat trips. On a World Surfaris surfing package you have the major advantage of being guaranteed a space on the boats regardless of surfer numbers!!!

Surfing
Hudhuranfushi Resort is the best destination in the North Male atoll for surfing, with seven surfing breaks within 20 minutes by dhoni boat.

Surfing breaks

Lohis (within a short walk and paddling distance), Ninjas, Sultans, Honkies, Jailbreak, Cokes and Chickens.

The World Surfaris surfing package includes a prepaid surfing pass that gives surfers two daily dhoni boat trips (three hours per trip) to the surf breaks.
A maximum of 45 surfers at a time are permitted for these boat trips in up to three dhoni boats (maximum 15 surfers per boat). Holders of the prepaid World Surfaris surf pass are guaranteed space on the boat trips at all times. 

Evening programs
Live music, disco, karaoke, traditional shows, crab race, magic show, fire dance, beach parties etc.

On-island sports activities
Surfing at Lohis break (walk from your room to world class left-hander), tennis, table tennis, squash, billiards/snooker, darts, football (soccer), beach volleyball, table soccer, badminton, fitness equipment, chess, carom.

Diving Schools

1. Languages spoken: English, German, Japanese and Dhivehi.
2. Types of Courses: PADI - open water to dive master,  CMAS - one star, discover scuba diving.
3. Certificates: PADI, Barakuda, CMAS.
4. Dive spots: 40 different points (MS Victory Wreck, Octbetilla, Manta Point, Shark Point, Rainbow Giri, Lions Head, Paradise Rock, Aquarium, Coral Garden, Banana Reef, etc).
5. Equipment: BCD, regulator, wetsuit, computer, mask, fins, snorkel, video camera etc.
6. Organized diving safaris or excursions every day.

We have 15 beach villas/Lohis Surfpoint rooms available in seven night blocks from Saturday to Saturday (from 26 April till 11 October 2009 ) and a further four rooms are available for alternative durations (minimum stay of three nights).  Ocean villas are now available on request.
