About Gaaviya Charters

Gaaviya is a majestic-looking vessel measuring 32 metres (approximately 100ft) in length by 10 metres (approximately 35 foot) in width.

She cuts through the ocean at nine to 11 knots per hour.

Gaaviya boasts some of the finest-looking and most spacious cabins of any cruise boat in the Maldives (besides Ocean Dancer). There are nine such air-conditioned cabins that can accommodate a total of 18 guests (we will take a maximum of 12 surfers). Handcrafted wooden interior decor gives the cabins a distinctive elegance and the range of modern amenities adds convenience. Fresh hot and cold water is available in ensuite bathrooms. All the comforts of modern living and elegance are close at hand wherever you look on Gaaviya.

The three large wooden sundecks are perfect for kicking back with a good book, cold drink, checking the surf or witnessing a magnificent Maldivian sunset.

Dining onboard Gaaviya is a highlight of the trip and meals are taken in the large, air-conditioned restaurant. The meals are prepared by the experienced Maldivian chef who plans the meals carefully to keep repetition at bay. Traditional Maldivian dishes provide culinary adventures, spicing up all meal times and favouring your sweet tooth with exotic desserts, and you can choose to dine outside on the deck in sunlight or under the silver light of the moon. The spacious, air-conditioned bar on the vessel is well stocked with the world’s leading drinks and a fine selection of champagne.

IDD telephone and fax services are available onboard, ensuring that you do not lose touch with important contacts during your holiday in paradise. Sophisticated, modern diving equipment, as well as snorkelling and water sports equipment, are on board for your use. Diving can be arranged at additional cost. A diving dhoni and a dinghy accompany the Gaaviya everywhere, ensuring that you can always get closer to the surf action. An expert Maldivian surf guide is inclusive in the charter cost for all surfing groups.

Hassan Ihusaan is a local from Thulusdhoo Island- the famous surfing breaks of ‘Colas’ and 'Chickens' are some of his home breaks.  He has been surfing from very young age and he has enjoyed surfing all across the country during the years.   

He competed in O’ Neil surfing competition and as well Sri Lankan Pro. As a surf guide he has worked for more than 6 years so far on different surf charters. This is the first season he is working for us. Hassan Ihusaan is mostly know as “ Korey” in the surfing Industry.

Gaaviyaa is ideal for large groups of surfers, divers and weddings as well as non-surfers looking for a hell of a vacation onboard the ultimate luxury vessel in the Maldives. Though she can comfortably hold up to 18 passengers, it is recommended that you limit the number of surfers onboard to 12 to avoid instant crowds.

Scuba diving - available on request and at additional charge

All equipment and instruction is available. Certified dive courses can be taken if we are made aware in advance.

Male airport pick-up, three meals per day, hot drinks, bottled water (up to 20 large bottles per day based on group of 10), soft drinks (up to 30 per day based on group of 10), services of expert surf guide, dive master, use of all onboard equipment and facilities including dhoni boat and dinghy.
