About Freedom 2 - High speed luxury

Freedom II is an extremely comfortable, exceptionally stable oceangoing vessel built with superior finishes and expert craftsmanship. Being a catamaran, she is as comfortable and spacious as a 50% longer mono-hull vessel and not subject to the constant pitching and rolling motions that mono-hulls often experience.

Inside she has been carefully laid out with luxury surf charters in mind. Amenities include 4 guest cabins each with single berths, a spacious air-conditioned saloon, large wraparound sofas with a 360 degree sea view, a full bar, and a 42” LCD T.V.

Exterior areas provide plenty of comfortable spots to relax in the shade, check out the surf, eat, drink, etc, both in the cockpit and up on the fly-bridge. At night the cockpit is closed in, combining it with the saloon to create a huge airconditioned space to kick back in.

The yacht’s fuel capacity gives her an approximate range of 2,000 nautical miles at an average cruising speed of 21 knots. This allows your experienced Freedom skipper/guide 'Darren Stockwell' (formerly of Freedom) to explore “out of the way” areas to the north and south of the Mentawai more easily and quicker than the majority of vesells in this region.

In the right conditions Freedom II can cruise at an exceptional maximum speed of 28 knots.

Captain Michael Mathews aka ‘Moose’ has been the longest serving skipper in Sumatra, arriving in the early 80s. Moose has been an owner/skipper in the Mentawais for over 20 years and is now the skipper of Freedom II due to his decision to move into skippering as a career against running his own boat. A great guy, keen surfer and knows the spots and conditions better than anyone. His knowledge and keenness for surf combined with Freedom II’s speed, means you will quickly find the best waves and maximize surf time. It also opens up a world of choices, destinations, and customized surf trips around the other Sumatran island chains.

In addition to surfing you can enjoy diving, snorkeling, and fishing, utilising the quality equipment provided on board. When it comes to cuisine, your western cook will dish up the tastiest meals consisting of a mix of high standard western and Asian cuisine, often including the fresh fish you just hauled in.

With all the luxury, space, and the possibilities on Freedom II, you and your friends are guaranteed to enjoy great waves, great food, and great times with your highly respected captain and crew in the number one surf destination in the world!
