General
comments
Not all rooms had ensuites there were private facilities but you had to walk out your room, only a couple of steps, didn' worry us but it could some people. A couple of more name tags for surfboards and luggage would be good. Pack your surfboard well
Airline

Singapore airlines and Silk Air were great

Destination
First impression of resort / surf camp / boat
Welcoming staff, exquisite environment, panoramic views from chalet on cliff-top, excellent variety of menu choices, activities to suit everyone even non-surfers. Great staff/visitor ratio, friendly home-away-from-home atmosphere!
Quality of food
Great variety and fresh vegies/fruit always.
Quality of accommodation
For indo, the chalets were clean and built/designed with natural materials to reflect their envoronment. Rain on thatched roofs sounds delightful! Even a water-flush toilet which was a pleasant surprise.
Efficiency of transportation (eg surf transfers)
Fabulous/on time and the staff who transfered us were extra friendly and helpful - Yandi (spelling??) who met us in Denpasar on both occassions and transfered us to our hotel was so welcoming, enthusiastic and helpful! (please see photo - Yandi on left, Tomah on right) Thankyou!!
Surf knowledge of management
Manager (Kerry) was aware of the surf changes in all winds and tides - other guests were also helpful. Staff (locals) did not understand the surf at all however.
Quality of surf
Avilability of extra activities
Equipment readily available and free for guests. SUP's, surf skis, snorkelling, skurfing behind boat, wind surfing, free massages, free wireless internet (take your laptops)
Friendliness of staff
Made us feel special and always welcoming - couldn't do enough to help us.
Service levels (efficiency of staff)
A cultural thing... communication difficulties combined with an indo/lombok casual, relaxed attitude. Sometimes things get over-looked...part of the charm. Management were excellent!
Would you return to the destination
General comments
The road to the resort was in very poor condition. 4WD necessary to manage the deep potholes and mud pits. A 2-3 hour drive from Mataram airport - best to do during daylight hours if possible. Most guests (especially females) were not prepared for this. "Where in hell are you taking me!" was uttered a few times to my surfing husband before we arrived in the dark late at night. Other guests arrived splattered with mud as the back windows of the 4WD were jammed down. An adventure just getting there!! (but worth it). We weren't aware that there was free wireless internet available (take your laptops).
Airline comments
Never go with Jetstar unless you have almost NO check-in luggage with your surfboard. We did our own bookings, flying home with Jetstar via Darwin and were unaware of the extra luggage allowance we had to pay if we went over our normal check-in baggage limits. Pacific Blue were great on the flight over and granted us one surfboard each free. Jetstar (Denpasar) included our boards in our luggage allowance and charged $25 per kg over the allowance - we were 14kg over!!!!!Our fault for not reading the fine print and for thinking all airlines were the same.

Subject: RE: Heaven on the planet
Hi Cath
Back from our holiday, thanks for arranging. We had a fabulous time.
Heaven on the Planet was sooo good. Highly recomend it. Had a wonderful relax and some good waves even though it was the off season.
Michael at world surfaris in Bali was also very helpful also, he organised a trip to Bali safari and marine park which was awsome. He also gave me some good advise on where to buy a new camera as my packed it in in Lombok. Guys doing transfers very good, spoke good english and punctual.
The staff at Heaven even gave me a camera to use when mine stuffed up then put all my shots on a cd to bring home. Everything about Heaven was excellent we will be going back again.
I've filled in questionaire and posted to you, just had to let you know how good it was.
Many thanks
Barbara.
